Project "Musical Images"

For centuries, the development of music has been often compared to the evolution of visual arts. Many scholars in the past devoted their lives to study the comparable qualities between the two art forms in order to understand the reasons behind such connections. Some believed that visual arts influenced the changing aesthetics in music, yet others argued that music and visual arts coexisted as two individual but parallel art forms. However, one thing that most scholars and art enthusiasts do agree on is the importance of social, political, cultural, and religious impact that has shaped the ideology of both music and visual arts. Therefore, both cannot exist without impact from the outside world, for they are production of artists’ expression and reaction to their surrounding experience, feeling, imagination, or belief.

Project "Musical Images" is an ongoing creative process to present live music at galleries and art museums nationwide. Each concert is specifically designed to suit the theme of the artworks in display. Meanwhile, the Project welcomes collaborations with artists who are interested in the integration of visual arts and music. By doing so, Project "Musical Images" promotes the essence of arts through connection visual artworks with music, as two artistic entities that complement each other. This is a project for the audience and art lovers who enjoy imaginative experience in both visual artworks and music, as well as anyone who desires a deeper understanding of art forms from various periods. Meanwhile, Project "Musical Images" serves its educational purpose for the general public, welcoming audiences to explore, to observe, to listen, and to share their experience with others.
